Herbal & handmade

Working with plants, creativity, and the season’s quiet gifts

Welcome to the part of the homestead where hands meet heart — where herbs become teas, oils and salves, where flowers become soaps and candles, and where creativity finds its way into the little moments of daily life.

Nothing here is rushed.
Everything is made slowly, simply, and with a sense of season and place.

HERBAL LIVING

Herbal Teas & Infusions

We make simple teas from the herbs grown in the cottage garden:

  • chamomile for rest

  • peppermint for clarity

  • rosemary for winter warmth

  • sage and thyme for cold days

  • lavender when the evenings ask for calm

Sometimes these are dried for winter; sometimes they’re used fresh, straight from the garden.

Kitchen Herbalism

In our kitchen we create gentle, everyday remedies:

  • elderberry syrup for winter

  • rosehip honey

  • herbal vinegars

  • infused oils

  • fire cider

  • herb salts for cooking

These are small, accessible projects — the kind you can make while the soup simmers or the children paint at the table.

FORAGING NOTES

We gather plants carefully and respectfully: hawthorn, nettle, cleavers, wild garlic, elderflowers, rosehips and more.
Each plant becomes a tea, a syrup, an oil or simply a story in the garden journal.

HEARTWOOD HERBALISM

As I study with Heartwood, I share bits of what I’m learning — plant profiles, simple preparations, and the deeper connection between herbs and seasonal living.
This space grows alongside my studies.
